On July 19 1930, Mexico’s Manuel Rosas became the first player in World Cup history to take a penalty kick.
Although his side were battered 6-3 by Argentina in Montevideo, Rosas made history by scoring from 12 yards for the Mexicans.
Not only for that reason had he seen his name written in FIFA’s record books, but Rosas also became the youngest player to score a World Cup goal at the time when he has 18.
His record was beaten by Pele in 1958, even so Rosas remains the second youngest to score in the World Cup after the Brazil legend.
