The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the African Cup of Nations agreed to change the residence of the Libyan national team during their stay in Cairo.

The Libyan team objected to their stay in the “Sonesta” hotel, which they described as “low in standard”.

The LOC will move the Libyan team to “Sheraton Helioplis” hotel where the Libyan delegation will pay the difference in price.

The Libyan delegation will arrive in Cairo on Monday.

Libya were drawn to Group A of the African Cup of Nations and will face hosts Egypt in the opening match on January 20th.

Defender Naji Shushan and striker Nader Karra are poised to miss Egypt’s match due to suspension after picking up two yellow cards during the qualifiers.
