Senegalese Sports Minister Daouda Faye asked Senegal players to put their best performances and return to their homeland with the African Cup, during a visit to the team training camp in Ismailia.

Faye also asked the players to honour Senegalese football by showing their best sportsmanship in the 2006 African Cup of Nations (ACN).

On another hand, Senegal boss Abdoulaye Sarr insisted that Egypt deserved to win their opener against Libya, especially after dominating the game from start to end.

Nevertheless, Sarr insisted that Egypt’s early victory doesn’t mean that they will qualify to the African Cup quarter-finals, given the presence of Morocco and Ivory Coast, and said that he couldn’t predict the winners, given that the teams “develop with every match”.

Senegal will face Zimbabwe in Group D match that will take place on Sunday, while Ghana play Nigeria.

On another hand, Ismaili spokesman Abdul-Rahman Annous announced that the board set up a huge tent to broadcast the matches to club members. The tent will be officially open with Egypt’s match against Morocco on Tuesday.
