Gharib's comments played down reports indicating that none of the 24-man squad will be present for the match in June.

"We did not choose these players haphazardly; the selection is based on accurate considerations, five or six players from them will be included in our squad for Spain's friendly," Gharib told reporters on Wednesday.

"Our next camp, starting from May 24th, will witness many surprises, either expelling some of the players who were involved in the African Cup of Nations triumph or selecting new players," Gharib said.

He revealed that many of the team's regular players will not participate in Spain's game for different reasons.

"Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' is ruled out through internal suspension, Mohamed Barakat won't be able to fully recover from his injury in time, veteran Hossam Hassan is out of form and Zamalek keeper Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed is injured," he said.

Gharib said that the coaching staff is trying to inject new blood in the team in preparation for the African Cup of Nations in Ghana in 2008.
