Confederation of African Football (CAF) have short-listed Libya, Angola, Nigeria as the candidates for hosting the 2010 African Cup of nations (ACN), with a co-host bid from Guinea Bissau and Gabon.

The African football governing body added that the four candidates were chosen after rejecting other bids from Mozambique, Namibia, Senegal and Zambia after the executive committee discussed all of the proposed bids in their meeting in Cairo, CAF announced on their official website on Sunday.

The CAF committee is due to visit the five countries before announcing the winning bid to host the African competition.

Gabon, Guinea Bissau and Angola have never won the honor of hosting Africa's biggest football competition, unlike Libya and Nigeria.

The 2008 ACN will be held in Ghana, where Egypt will be defending the title they won on their homeland earlier this year.
