Salah Hosni, the team's football director, told reporters that Vingada urged his players not to fall in the over-confidence trap that left the Egyptian first team held to a goalless draw by Botswana on Saturday.

Vingada's side will host Gambia in the second leg on Sunday after the first match ended in a 0-0 away draw.

The Portuguese coach refused to announce the starting 11 and said they will be revealed just a few hours before the game.

The winners will advance to another two-legged knockout stage in March when they will compete for a place in the group stage, the last phase of qualifiers.
