جمهور الزمالك يتهم الأهلي بخطف اللاعبين
"I'm used to this kind of challenges, I took charge of UAE second-division side Al-Shaab in 2003 and led them to a place in the top flight," Filipovic told FilGoal.com on Friday.
Filipovic is the frontrunner to succeed sacked Portuguese manager Manuel Cajuda but the club is yet to unveil him officially.
Mahmoud Saad will be in charge of Zamalek in their next two Egyptian League matches against Harras Al-Hodoud on Tuesday and arch-rivals Ahli in the Cairo derby on Saturday.
Filipovic believes Zamalek players are capable of making up for their current form which saw their league title hopes become slim.
"I watched previous matches for Zamalek and found that there are many good players but they lack concentration."
"All they need is some confidence in their abilities and with that many international players within their squad, they can return back to winning ways."
The 53-year-old boss is set to meet Zamalek chairman Mamdouh Abbas on Saturday to finalize the deal.
