"The circumstances are difficult for us with the new football rules that we have to face," Mourinho was quoted as saying by BBC Sports.

The outspoken Portuguese believes that United should have been penalized twice in their last two games against Middlesbrough and Sheffield United.

"It is not possible to have a penalty against Manchester United."

United defender John O'Shea shoved Boro forward Lee Dong-Gook clumsily in the 90th minute of the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Red Devils were lucky to escape the penalty verdict for the second week in a row after their last week opponents Sheffield United were denied a clear-cut penalty claim as well.

However, it was the incident which saw Chelsea denied a penalty at Newcastle following Stephen Carr's clear handball which escalated Mourinho's frustration.

"It was a penalty at Old Trafford. It was a penalty to us. We are talking about points," he said.

"It is not a conspiracy, it is fact. I speak facts. If not, I need big glasses.

"If you tell me it was not a penalty for Sheffield United, or a penalty for Middlesbrough, or for us against Newcastle. I must go to my optician."

The Blues missed a golden chance to close the gap on United when they were held to a 0-0 draw at Newcastle to keep the 3-point gap going.

"It was a chance missed to close the gap," said the Chelsea boss.

However, he concluded that his side has a fine chance of keeping the title at Stamford Bridge.

"The target has been for a long time to finish this period - we have three of our last four matches at home and Man United have three of their four away - in a condition to be champions."

Mourinho was satisfied with his players' performance despite admitting his team did fully deserve a win.

"I cannot ask for more of my players, I think that what they are doing is absolutely amazing.

"I'm not saying we deserved to win. Over the 90 minutes Newcastle played well and deserved a point."
