Zamalek are considering punishing striker Amr Zaki following his outspoken comments against his teammates following the 1-1 draw with Suez Cement, a club source said on Thursday.

Egyptian daily Al-Masry Al-Youm quoted the prolific hitman as accusing Zamalek players of lacking unity as well as not being faithful to their club.

Zaki also said that Zamalek's current below-par form does not match the caliber of the Egyptian League while admitting that there is no way the Cairo giants can win the title this season.

"We will not win the league even if just one point separates us from Ahli," the Egyptian international added.

The anonymous source said the club's board is yet to determine the sanction that will be imposed on Zaki.

According to Zamalek assistant coach Ayman Mansour, the club are edging towards a strict policy to enforce discipline within the team.

Talented winger Mahmoud Abdul-Razeq 'Shikabala' was handed a one-month ban by Zamalek for missing training without permission.

Tunisian defender Wissem El-Abdi could be also sanctioned for being needlessly dismissed in Suez Cement match.

Zamalek, who suffered three defeats since the start of the league campaign, lie seventh in the table with 10 points.
