German manager Otto Pfister has signed a three-year contract with Cameroon Sports ministry to take charge of the Indomitable Lions for a monthly salary of $41 000.

Pfister was unveiled during a ceremony on Wednesday and the contract was signed with the country's sports minister while the president of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot), Mohammed Iya attended but did not sign.

"Contract or no contract with the federation, there is no problem. I am here to work and give my best to Cameroon football 24 hours a day," Pfister told BBC sport.

The former Zamalek manager led Merrikh to the CAF Cup but quit his job after the 4-2 home defeat against Sfax.

His task is to lead the four-time African Champions to the 2010 World Cup and to finish at the top three in next year's Nations Cup finals.

Cameroon are playing in group C alongside Egypt, Sudan and Zambia.
