Egypt assistant coach Hamada Sedki said the technical staff was satisfied with the 3-0 victory over Sudan despite the inconsistent performance.

"The players were under pressure after the huge victory over Cameroon," Sedki told Modern Sport following the game on Saturday.

"Egyptians waited for a big score line but we are satisfied with the display and the result."

Egypt crushed Cameroon 4-2 in their first game before coasting past their neighbors.

The defending champions are in charge of Group C with six points.

But they will have to wait until their last game with Zambia to secure a place in the quarter-finals.

Sedki said Egypt target a victory over Zambia to finish on top of the group.

"We need one point but will play for the three points because we want to finish first and stay in Kumasi," he said.
