Pato suffers minor knocks

Brazilian starlet Alexandre Pato scored a double to help AC Milan beat Genoa 2-0 on Sunday in the Serie A.

The 18-year old striker won the bet for his boss Carlo Ancelotti who used him as a lone striker.

Ronaldo and Inzaghi were ruled out with injuries and Alberto Gilardino was watching from the bench.

Paolo Maldini crossed the ball to Clarence Seedorf who assisted Pato to open the scoring in the 68th minute.

He secured the win with a fast counter, eight minutes from time, beating the keeper to score his third goal of the season.

The World champions are now seventh of the table with 27 points.

Elsewhere Inter Milan were held to a goalless draw by Udinese allowing second-placed AS Roma, who defeated Palermo 1-0 on Saturday, to cut the lead to only five points.

The Italian Champions had to play for 70 minutes with only 10 men on the pitch as Brazilian defender Cesar was shown the red in the 21st minute.
