Angola were handed a heavy 3-1 defeat by Uganda on Sunday in a group 3 World Cup qualifier.

Eugene Sepuya and Andrew Mwesigwa scored early goals to put the hosts two up after only 20 minutes and Dan Wagaluka made it 3-0 with 10 minutes to go.

Angolan striker Pedro Mantorras had the last world with a late consolation goal in injury time.

Ahli’s striker Flavio was among the starting lineup despite reports that he might miss the game due to injury.

Meanwhile African powerhouses Cameroon and Ivory Coast were held to draws by Tanzania 0-0 and Botswana 1-1 respectively.

Burkina Faso maintained their winning streak as they beat Seychelles 3-0 to maintain the top of the group 9 with 9 points.

Kenya beat Zimbabwe 2-0 to clinch the top of the group 2 with six points two ahead of second-placed Zimbabwe.
