The Chipolopolo were drawn alongside Egypt, Algeria and Rwanda in the second phase of the African World Cup qualification Group C.

"Big teams like Cameroon and Nigeria can't beat Egypt in Cairo, let alone a smaller team like ours," Renard told the Zambian Times.

"However, we will always have the confidence that we can cause an upset."

Young Team

The French coach added that he is in the process of building a promising Zambian national side.

"I choose my players according to their displays and capabilities not their names and reputation.

Renard is counting on eight youngsters, who were part of the Zambian team that finished third in the African domestic championship.

"In addition to the young players, I was also keen to call up other who can contribute with their expertise," added Renard.
