The Bavarians will meet Barca in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday, and Klinsmann said that the tie will show which player is superior.

"Messi is a player that can make a difference between victory and defeat," the former Germany coach told a press conference on Tuesday.

"But we also have players who can make a difference like Ribery. Tomorrow you'll be able to compare them and see who's best."

Wolfsburg Defeat

The Bavarians were beaten 5-1 by Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday. However, Klinsmann insisted that Europe is a different matter for Bayern this season.

"Obviously, we're all disappointed about the result but we know why it happened and we've cleared the air about it already."
