A good number of European powerhouses are reportedly interested in the France ace, including Manchester United and Barca.

"Franck has told me he wants to play for Barcelona," Van Bommel told Spanish radio station RAC1.

The Dutchman believes Ribery has what it takes to pull it off in the Primera Liga.

"He is the best player in Germany and his style of play would fit well with Barca's because he is strong with great technical ability," he added.

A while back, Ribery's agent Alain Migliaccio revealed the international winger would move away from the Bavarian giants only to join the Catalans.

"If Ribery does leave Bayern, he will only leave to join a club like Barcelona, where they have all the best players," he said in February.

"It would be a phenomenal opportunity for him to play with Barca."
