The five-time world champions were given an 89th minute spot-kick to beat the Pharaohs 4-3 in the Confederations Cup Group B opener.

After Ahmed Al-Muhammadi cleared Lucio's shot off the line with his arm, referee Howard Webb's instant decision was a corner kick, before the Englishman reversed his call to a penalty kick.

The incident prompted the Egyptian FA to file a complaint to FIFA, who responded through their statement on Tuesday.

"A thorough analysis revealed that the decision in question was achieved through teamwork between the match referee and his Assistant Referee Number 1, Mike Mullarkey, who confirmed the offence to the referee from his clear viewing angle," read the statement.

Al-Muhammadi Act

After handling Lucio's shot, Al-Muhammadi fell on the floor trying to pretend that he was injured while clearing the ball.

However, according to Brazil skipper Lucio, the ENPPI full-back's simulation drove Webb suspicious and made him call for his assistant's help.

Al-Muhammadi saw straight red following the incident.
