According to the British tabloid, the Argentine hitman will undergo a medical at City right after his arrival from holiday, and he's expected to be part of the Citizens' pre-season South Africa tour.

Tevez, who refused last month to extend his stay at Manchester United, will reportedly put his signature to a five-year contract worth £150,000 a week with Mark Hughes' side.

The signing of the 25-year-old is of the utmost importance to City, as their attempt to bring in Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o has failed.

Tevez spent the last two seasons on loan at Old Trafford and played a key role in helping United win two Premiership titles.

However, the international striker, who scored 34 goals in 98 appearances, was unhappy that he wasn't playing on a regular basis.

Tevez's registration is owned by a company rather than a club.
