Young Egyptians can do it

The U-20 World Cup is approaching and the young Pharaohs are finally set to decode years of hard work in front of their own fans.

The home soil is an advantage, but the positive aspect about this tournament is that the amount of pressure on Egyptians is not huge.

The majority of football fans in Egypt have their sights on the first team, who face a tricky challenge in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.

So eyes won't be out on stalks when the youth team open their World Cup campaign in Alexandria.

With the pressure factor eased, motivation and enthusiasm would drive an Egyptian youngster, eager to impress in his final year of junior football.

Another factor that makes it an ideal atmosphere for the players to perform, is that the opening match is not against a feared opposition.

If Miroslav Soukup's side managed to see off the challenge from Trinidad & Tobago, it would be a major confidence boost for the team's campaign.

Soukup and his crew have been working in the dark for several years now, only for the sake of delivering in the upcoming few weeks.

It's time for the Czech to prove why the FA have chosen him over a number of famous foreigners, as well as some competent local managers.
