The 23-year-old, who scored 26 league goals for the Bundesliga side last term, was approached by AC Milan in the summer but Wolfsburg decided to keep hold of him.

However, the Wolves' poor start to the current season urged Veh to consider making changes to his frontline.

"Of course, players of his class attract interest from other clubs," he told German newspaper Wolfsburger Allgemeinen Zeitung.

"We have got to expect that. It was the case with Mario Gomez when I was at Stuttgart when we put a clause in his contract and the same would be the case with Dzeko.

"Players like him do have a price."
