Hossam took charge of the White Knights on Monday, following the sacking of French tactician Henri Michel, who failed to keep the team on an even keel over the past weeks.

In relation to Zamalek's coaching staff reshuffle, Ibrahim assures that he is set to be installed as football director in the immediate future.

"I have already started my new job," he told Dream TV. "I even attended Zamalek's training over the past couple of days.

"I was helping the team before and after their game with Harras Hodoud."

On Hossam's debut as Zamalek boss, the five-time African champions were condemned to a 2-1 defeat to Hodoud on Thursday.

Upon slumping to their sixth league defeat, Zamalek’s relegation worries notably mounted as the beleaguered side slipped to 12th place.

"I haven't signed the contract yet, as I'm still waiting for my ban to be frozen," Ibrahim added.

"I can't be in the dugout during Zamalek's games, but I'm already playing my role."

Ibrahim was handed a five-year ban nearly a year ago for his misconduct during Masri's 2-0 loss to JSM Bejaia of Algeria, where he physically assaulted the game's referee. He was the coastal side’s football director at the time.

"Even if my suspension isn't overturned, I will keep supporting Hossam. That's why I'm here," former Egypt star Ibrahim added.
