French boss Paul Le Guen has renewed his contract with Cameroon, after he led the team to a World Cup berth.

Le Guen took charge of the Indomitable Lions following the departure of veteran tactician Otto Pfister, who handed in his resignation in May.

Pfister stepped down from his role after the four-time African champions collected just one point from their first two games in Group A of the World Cup qualifiers.

However, Le Guen managed to lead a turnaround in Cameroon's fortunes and guided them to book a ticket in FIFA's primary competition.

Later on, the Frenchman's award came in the form a new contract which runs out by the end of the World Cup.

A signing ceremony at the National Sports Stadium in Yaounde took place to announce the details of the new deal.

"The negotiations to continue the job with Cameroon did not last 30 seconds," the Frenchman commented after the ceremony.
