The Super Eagles will now be able to continue their 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
"We are happy that the ban has been lifted even if it is temporary," NFF official Musa Amadu said. "It will allow us to continue with our programs unhindered."
The suspension was imposed after government interference and legal actions by the National Association of Nigerian Footballers compromised Nigerian officials.
FIFA rules stipulate that its member must be independent.
The World governing body lifted the suspension until October 26th and then a final decision should be made.
The players' organization promised to drop a lawsuit that sought to annul recent federation elections.
The suspension is expected to be lifted permanently should the organization live up to its word.
