محمد زيدان دورتموند
The 28-year-old spent another 90 minutes on the bench watching the Bundesliga champions end a magnificent season with a 3-1 victory over the relegated Eintracht Frankfurt.
His campaign was largely affected by a knee injury sustained last year, but Zidan still believes he could have been given a more genuine chance by manager Juergen Klopp this term.
“I still have one year remaining in my contract with Dortmund and I really want to stay here and play in the Champions League, but I also need to play,” he told Dubai Sports TV.
“I think I have been treated unfairly in terms of participating with the team recently.
“With all due respect to the coach and to the excellent form of the team, I feel I deserve a better chance. Since I’ve returned from injury I didn’t get that chance.
“The manager always plays me when the team is trailing, he never does when we’re winning and I believe this is unfair to me.
“But as you can see we are champions and the team is playing well, so I cannot say anything in the meantime.”
