Mohamed Abou-Treika does not wish to be involved in the political unrest taking place in Egypt these days, his manager revealed.
Thousands of Egyptians took to the streets in different governorates on Sunday, demonstrating against president Mohamed Morsi, one year after his election.
As Abou-Treika has usually been linked with Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood, the Ahli icon has set the record straight about his political stance.
“Abou-Treika has not and will not take part in marches opposing or supporting president Morsi,” Treika’s personal manager Hazem Hadidi told FilGoal.com.
“Anything linking Abou-Treika with marches supporting Morsi is completely untrue.
“He prefers to remain silent regarding the political issues.”
