Bani Yas have announced the signing of Argentine midfielder Mauro Formica from Blackburn to complete the list of foreign-based players in the club’s roster.

The arrival of Formica means that Egypt international Mohamed Zidan will make way, with Senegalese Andre Senghor, Sweden’s Christian Wilhelmsson and Oman’s Abdul-Salam Amer on board.

Zidan, who is on a two-year contract that ends in 2014, is still out in the cold after he was suddenly dropped from Bani Yas’ roster in January.

Even though his initial dispute was with former manager Jozef Chovanec, Zidan is still at loggerheads with the Bani Yas board even with the arrival of new coach Jorge da Silva.

The 31-year-old was accused by club officials of pretending to be injured on several occasions, even so he constantly denies it.

He is still negotiating his way out of Bani Yas as he claims that he has $2million of unpaid dues at the Abu Dhabi club.
