Egypt forward Zaki became a free agent after rescinding his contract with Al-Salmiya of Kuwait, with strong speculation suggesting he will make a return to his old club.

“Zaki is a great striker but I don’t think Zamalek need him. I haven’t and will not ask the board to approach him,” coach Toulan told FilGoal.com.

“We have other positions that we have to reinforce as we already have three strikers. I need a left-back and a defensive midfielder.”

In addition to marksman Ahmed Gaafar, Zamalek signed Arafa Al-Sayed and Ahmed Ali this year as Mohamed Ibrahim could also be deployed upfront.
