Ahli's 2-0 Club World Cup defeat to Guangzhou Evergrande seems to be Mohamed Abou-Treika's last game after he had picked up an injury that will sideline him for up to six weeks.

Abou-Treika, who announced he will quit football after Ahli's Club World Cup campaign in Morocco, will not be able to feature in the 5th place playoff after being forced off the pitch against Guangzhou with a hamstring injury.

"Abou-Treika sustained a hamstring tear, such injuries usually require up to six weeks of treatment," Ahli doctor Ihab Ali told FilGoal.com.

Ahli said on their website that Abou-Treika has requested returning home, even so the Reds management insists to have him on board.

The African champions face Mexico’s Monterrey on Wednesday in an attempt to avenge last year’s defeat against the CONCACAF champions.
