Zamalek club members started on Friday to collect signatures for a petition objecting to the decision of Minister of Youth and Sports Mamdouh El-Beltagi to dissolve the former club board, led by Mourtada Mansour and appoint a new board led by Moursi Attalla.

The protestors, who will send the signed petition to the Ministry, are said to consider the decision to be “unconstitutional”.

Mansour appeared in the club on Thursday for the first time since he was sacked where he was greeted and cheered for by his supporters from the club fans.

The former Zamalek chairman insisted that he will sue Beltagi for dissolving the board and said that he had paid for the club ever since he was appointed and that the club club treasury was empty.

Former vice president Ismail Selim also appeared in the club along with former treasury head El-Mandouh El-Husseini and a host of their supporters.

The Egyptian minister had appointed Moursi Attalla as new club president for a one-year period replacing Mansour.
