Libya will their final training session on Thursday ahead of the African Cup of Nations opening game against hosts Egypt on Friday.

Captain Tarek Al-Taib’s participation in the Egypt match will be determined following Thursday’s training, Libyan national team insider sources said.

The Libyan team had also trained on Wednesday night amid strong media presence from their local media.

When asked about the reason behind Libya’s relocation from Sonesta hotel to Sheraton Heliopolis hotel, delegation head Gamal Al-Gaafari said that it was due to their familiarity with the latter establishment.

“We are used to staying at Sheraton on our trips to Cairo, besides, it is very close to the stadiums where our matches will be played,” Al-Gaafari told Filgoal.com.

Al-Gaafari was full of praise for Sonesta hotel, stating that many members of the accompanying Libyan contingent still resided there.

Libyan fans are pouring into Cairo ahead of the opening game to support their national team who is only making their second appearance at the ACN.
