Ghana suffered a 2-1 defeat to Egyptian club Ismaili in a friendly that took place in Port Said on Friday in preparation for their African Champions League (ACN) campaign.

The first-half went by without any goals from either clubs before striker Baba Adamu clinched the lead for Ghana. Ismaili’s Omar Gamal grabbed the equalizer for his side and Ahmed Al-Gamal secured their victory from a penalty-kick.

Ghana have been engaging their players in a series of friendly mini-matches ever since arriving in the coastal city training camp to adapt the players to excel their game under extreme pressure.

The Black stars are expected to play another friendly against Port Said club Al-Marrikh also in preparation for the African Cup.

Ghana, who were drawn with Nigeria, Senegal and Zimbabwe in Group D, will commence their African campaign against Nigeria on January 23rd at 5:15 (CLT).

On another hand, Ghanaian midfielder Stephen Appiah is expected to arrive shortly in Port Said, coming through Italian city Milano, to join his teammates in their training African Cup organizing committee volunteers told Filgoal.com.
