The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) decided to postpone the Cairo-derby between giants Ahli and Zamalek from February 14th to March fourth, the EFA announced on Saturday.

The decision was taken given the players' exhaustion following their winning campaign with Egypt in the African Cup of Nations (ACN), EFA technical director Mohamed Al-Seyagi told Filgoal.com.

The match was initially postponed from round 11 of the Egyptian league becuase of Ahli's participation in the World Club Championship in Japan in December.

Al-Seyagi also indicated that the local league will resume on February 18th, while Harras El-Hodoud’s match against Ahli will take place on March 13th, and Ahli’s match against Ismaili will take place on April 14th.

On the other hand, the Cairo International Stadium and the Military Academy Stadium authorities requested a one-week break to maintain the pitches and the stadiums' seats.
