Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez is furious at the increasing deviousness in the world of football and stressed that he instructed his players to play by the rules.

"Every team decides how they want to win. I like to win playing well and within the rules," Benitez told the Mail on Sunday.

"Some teams like to win at any cost. I have told my players to stay on their feet. I don't like to see them diving."

Benitez hit out at Chelsea's Arjen Robben whose clear dive last weekend cost Liverpool starting goalkeeper Jose Reina a harsh red card in their Premiership encounter.

"He has dived, it is so clear. I don't understand why you can kick everyone in a game then you touch one player and you are sent off.

"What kind of professional can you be against another professional if you leave the other player not playing for three games?"

Liverpool, third in the Premiership standings, have collected 31 bookings and two red cards, the least among the tournament's top four teams.
