"Bayern Munich are, in my mind, the favourites to win the Champions League," Capello told German newspaper Bild on Sunday.

"The German teams were able to rest during their Christmas break. That's an advantage for them," he added.

Juventus will face German side Werder Bremen in the UCL round of 16 while Bayern Munich are set to play Italy's AC Milan on Tuesday.

The Italian tactician said that winter break in the German Bundesliga is a decisive factor for any team competing in Europe's most prestigious competition.

"At the moment, German teams have an advantage. We've just had an intensive phase with a lot of matches behind us. That's the same for Barcelona or Chelsea," he said.

"It's quite possible that we'll meet Bayern in the final. I'd even say that Bayern are our greatest challenge to winning the Champions League," he added.
