Alexandria - Hani El-Awadi: Ittihad Alexandria board met with head coach Talaat Youssef to discuss the team’s poor performances since the Egyptian league’s second-round kick-off.

“We suggested to Youssef to make some changes in the coaching staff like adding former assistant coach Mamdouh Ouka to reinforce the team before the start of our African Confederation Cup campaign,” Ittihad vice president Mohamed Moselhi told Filgoal.com exclusively on Thursday.

Ittihad managed to add only one point to their tally after three matches, after losing to Zamalek and Harras El-Hodoud before holding Ismaili to a draw in the league’s round-16.

“The head coach has yet to give us an answer to our suggestion, to which he gave us his initial consent. He will notify me of his final answer on Friday,” Moselhi added.

The Ittihad board are looking to appoint Ouka as assistant coach, alongside Mohamed Ibrahim, while replacing Mohamed El-Amrawi with Magdi Bahloul and Moneir Akila with Mohamed Bastawi.

Ittihad come in seventh place in the local league standings with a tally of 20 points.
