Spanish outfit Valencia are expected to sign a new extension deal with striker David Villa that would see him remain at the club until 2013.

Villa is expected to pen the new contract, that will see him earn €120,000 (£82,000) per week, doubling his current salary, within the coming few days, Sky Sports reported on Tuesday after Valencia president Juan Soler confirmed the news.

Valencia's move to extend the Spaniard's deal comes after several Premiership clubs revealed interest in the talented forward.

Villa is in the runner-up position in the La Liga top-scorers' list, trailing Barcelona’s Samuel Eto’o, with 16 goals from the start of the season.
