"Meteb will undergo scans on Tuesday to know how much time he will be sidelined," an Ahli spokesman told FilGoal.com.

The 23-year-old international collected the knock during a challenge with teammate Mohamed Abdullah.

The spokesman added that Meteb is set to be left out of the squad preparing for Thursday's game even if he recovered in time as the coaching staff decided to give him some rest.

Meteb is under fire because of his poor season that saw him scoring only twice in the Egyptian League and three times with the national team during the African Cup of Nations.
