Zizou could make Real comeback

France and Real Madrid playmaker Zinedine Zidane said he will retire the game after the World Cup finals in Germany this summer.

"I think it is better to clarify the situation now. It's my decision and it's final," Zidane said in a televised interview with French channel Canal+.

Zidane said that he made the decision one year before his contract with the Spanish giants ends because his performance has been affected by the last strings of injuries.

"I have to listen to my body and I cannot carry on for another year," The 33-year-old icon added.

Zidane was the world's most expensive player in 2001 when he made a move from Italian club Juventus to Real Madrid for $66 million.

He won the Spanish League title with Real Madrid in 2001 and 2003 and the Champions League in 2002.

On the international arena, Zidane guided France to win the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000.
