Barcelona have retained the Spanish League title on Wednesday after their closest challengers Valencia slipped to a 2-1 defeat against Mallorca before they edged Celta Vigo 1-0.

The Catalans, who have a match in hand, are 11 points clear at the top of the league with just two matches to go.

Barca players knew they have already won the title during the break after the news of Valencia's defeat burst into the Celta stadium where the score was still tied.

In the second-half, top-scorer Samuel Eto'o netted his 25th goal of the season to trigger wild celebrations for the 18th La Liga title in Barcelona's history.

Frank Rijkaard's men still have a chance to grasp another title this season when they play Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League final on May 17th in Paris.
