Barcelona midfielder Ludovic Giuly criticized France coach Raymond Domenech to leave him out of the World Cup squad, saying that the manager should told him earlier.

"He (Domenech) wanted experience," Giuly told French paper L'Equipe.

"Players accepting they might be on the substitutes' bench, players who play for a great club and who had appeared in big games, players who don't complain.

"I did all that for Barcelona. I met all the selection criteria Domenech put forward."

Giuly, who was pivotal for France's qualifiers campaign, was surprisingly dropped off France squad for the World Cup.

"He should have told me face to face. It was the least he could do," the Champions League and La Liga winner said.

"Nobody called me to ask me to be ready just in case. He (Domenech) was not even able to do that."

In the World Cup, France play in Group G alongside Togo, Switzerland and South Korea.
