"Following Essam Gomaa's injury, team coach Roger Lemerre decided to call up Ben Saada to replace him in the squad," the statement said.

The Tunisian football governing body added that they informed FIFA with Gomaa's injury and asked to replace him with Ben Saada who will join the Tunisian team in Schweinfort on Thursday.

Tunisis will play against Saudi Arabia in their World Cup Group H inaugural match that will take place on June 14th in Munich before facing Ukraine and Tunisia.
