Kuhn had something to smile about

Switzerland coach Koebi Kuhn said he is happy to have held former world champions France to a scoreless draw in their Group G game on Tuesday.

"France were able to dictate the game and we made mistakes so we have to be happy with sharing the points. We won't be leaving Stuttgart with our heads hanging low," Kuhn told reporters.

Kuhn explained that there is room for improvement for his team in the next matches.

France coach Raymond Domenech said that his only regret was not finding the net.

We are used to dropping points at major championships in recent years," Domenech said. "The pity was we didn't score when we should have done."

"It's a draw that had its good moments but we were not able to take the edge.

We knew it wouldn't be easy but there are matches left. We deprived our main rivals of two points."

The result means France's winless and goalless record in the World Cup finals was extended to four games.
