Michael Owen said he won't change his personal style although he failed to impress in England's first two matches in the World Cup.

"One thing I'm not going to do is change my game to please everyone's eye," Owen was quoted as saying on Saturday.

The Newcastle forward is under heavy criticism because of his below-par display against Paraguay and Trinidad and Tobago.

"I'm in the team to be in the box. If the ball is in the box and I'm not on the end of it you can blame me," he said.

"But that's where I should be, in the box scoring goals for England."

England play Sweden in their last group-stage match on Tuesday after already securing a place in the knock-out stage.
