Holland held Argentina to a goalless draw in their Group C match that took place in Frankfurt on Wednesday in the World Cup.

With this result, Argentine qualified to the World Cup round of 16 as Group C leaders with seven points, ahead of second-placed Holland on goal difference, where they will face Mexico on June 24th, while Holland will play against Portugal on June 25th.

Both Argentina and Holland gave mediocre performances in the lack-lustre match that saw a host of chances squandered from both sides.

The Argentines came close to score twice in the first-half when Juan Roman Riquelme fired a free-kick against the post, while Maxi Rodriguez sent a throbbing shot just inches away from the Dutch net.

The Dutch failed to switch the run of the game during the second-half except for a number of small scares which were either blocked at the Argentinean defense or by goalkeeper Roberto Abbondanzieri.

Elsewhere, Ivory Coast came back for two goals down to beat Serbia and Montenegro 3-2 in their match in Munich.

The Ivorians were down 2-0 by the first 20 minutes thanks to goal from Nikola Zigic and Sasa Ilic.

Aruna Dindane netted a brace, the first from a spot-kick and the second from an inch-perfect header, for Ivory Coast in the 37th and 67th minutes, while Bonaventure Kalou secured their victory to exit the World Cup in style.

Both Ivory Coast and Serbia have exited the World Cup after placing third and fourth with three points and nil, respectively.
