Ahli international defender Mohamed Abdul-Wahab was excluded from the team traveling to the France training camp as part of the club's preparations for the new season.

Youngsters Amr Al-Halawani, Mohamed Abdul-Fattah 'Eto'o' and Abdul-Ellah Galal will not be making the trip to France alongside Abdul-Wahab for various reasons.

Abdul-Wahab has been on loan at Ahli since 2004 and the player has impressed as he helped the club win five trophies last season as well as playing a major role with the Egyptian national team that won the African Cup of Nations last February.

But despite the player's desire to secure a permanent deal with Ahli, the club is yet to reach an agreement with Abdul-Wahab's original club Al-Zafra of the UAE to land the 23-year-old full back.

"I will not be traveling with the team to France to avoid further problems with Al-Zafra," Abdul-Wahab told FilGoal.com on Sunday.

Meanwhile, 20-year-old Galal expressed his sadness not to be with the team in France.

The technical staff's decision to exclude him alongside the 21-year-old pair of Al-Halawani and Eto'o may be a sign that the club intends to release the players before the start of next season.

Apart from the excluded quartet, 30 Ahli players will be in the French camp including Angolan striker Flavio Amado who returned to Egypt after taking part with his country in the World Cup.

Ahli's contingent:

Goalkeepers: Essam Al-Hadari, Nader Al-Sayed, Amir Abdul-Hamid.

Defenders: Emad Al-Nahhas, Wael Gomaa, Ahmed Al-Sayed, Mohamed Mahmoud 'Nano', Islam Al-Shater, Mohamed Sedik, Ahmed Sedik.
