The star full-back held talks with Chelsea for a switch to Stamford Bridge while he was still under contract with Arsenal.
The case was investigated by the Premier League and Cole, Chelsea and their coach Jose Mourinho were all hit with big fines.
"Arsenal hung me out to dry, using me as a scapegoat to hit back at Chelsea," The Sun on Saturday quoted Cole as saying in his book.
"Negotiations broke down and as a player I felt betrayed, I was on trial within football and it was Arsenal and Chelsea against me."
Despite renewing his contract with the Gunners, the 25-year-old international said that he will reveal the truth about the whole incident in the book.
"I'll reveal the shattering truth about who fed me to the sharks, it changed my view forever on the club I regarded as my family," he said.
"I battle to clear my name and a secret deal keeps me at Arsenal."
Cole is already a transfer target for some of Europe's best clubs including Barcelona and Real Madrid. The player's statements may be a step on his way out of the Emirates Stadium.
