Egyptian midfielder Ahmed Hassan has admitted he is still trying to adapt to his new Belgian champions Anderlecht.

Hassan did, however, play down the issue, noting that it's "normal".

"Any player needs time to acquaint to his new team, especially if it is in a different country," Hassan told FilGoal.com in an exclusive interview.

The 31-year-old international joined the Belgian champions on a free transfer from Turkish side Besiktas in May.

Despite the problem of adapting, the Egyptian skipper, who spent eight years plying his trade in Turkey, said he does not regret the move.

"I have no regrets," he said. "In fact, I'm happy with my decision to join Anderlecht and satisfied with my performances in the team's warm-up games so far."

Hassan played in all three pre-season friendlies during which he played in three different positions: Striker, attacking midfielder and right wing and managed to impress his new coach Franky Vercauteren.

Hassan, who won the best player award in the African Cup of Nations that Egypt won on home soil last February, will play his first official match with Anderlecht when they face S.V. Zulte-Waregem.
