The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has officially extended the contract of national team coach Hassan Shehata and his assistants till the African Cup of Nations in 2008.

EFA chairman Samir Zaher told FilGoal.com on Sunday that the contract wasn't signed since winning the African Cup in February because of a dispute over the financial terms.

Shehata's monthly salary has been increased by 10% to reach EGP 55.000, Zaher said adding that the same increase will apply to all the members of the coaching staff.

The former Zamalek star took over as Egypt manager during the World Cup qualifiers succeeding Italy's Marco Tardelli.

He failed to reach Germany 2006 but steered Egypt to their fifth African title after beating Ivory Coast on home soil in the final.
