Hassan Saqr, head of the Egyptian Higher Council of Sport (HCS), refused to allow Mortada Mansour retain his post as Zamalek president.

An Egyptian court had reinstated Mansour as president of Zamalek club on Tuesday, overturning the decision made by Saqr to relief Mansour of his duties as Zamalek president.

The HCS issued a statement saying that it appealed the court's ruling regarding the return of the "suspended" Zamalek president to his duties and will uphold their original decision until a final verdict is reached.

The statement, of which FilGoal.com received a copy, also stated there was no personal grudge between Saqr and Mortada, as the latter previously alleged.

The Egyptian HCS took the decision to suspend Mansour after the tribunal saga that paralleled last season's Egyptian Cup final between Ahli and Zamalek.

Meanwhile, another tribunal set September 20th as a date to deliver a verdict in the appeal made by Mansour in the lawsuit set against him by Ahli club officials.
