Zamalek squandered their lead

Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek were held to a 2-2 draw by Saudi outfit Al-Qadisiyah in a pre-season friendly on Sunday.

The visitors grabbed a surprise lead through Aayed Al-Sehaymi in the 17th minute but Zamalek trial player Magdi Attwa leveled the score two minutes after re-start.

Tarek Al-Sayed grabbed the lead for Zamalek midway through the second-half before substitute Saleh Al-Ghonaim grabbed the equalizer with three minutes to play in regular time.

The game comes as a final preparation for Zamalek ahead of the new season, which they kick-off with the Egyptian league match against Ghazl Mahalla on Friday.

Attwa, who is on trial with Zamalek from Enppi, played an outstanding match while Amr Zaki, whose move to Zamalek is still pending, featured for the team for the first time.
